Podiatry Self-Referral

Livewell Southwest is pleased to announce that potential new patients, or their carers and relatives, can now refer themselves to Podiatry Services if they are registered with a GP in the Plymouth, South Hams or West Devon areas.

A Podiatrist may be able to provide appointments for people who have:

  • foot wounds – also called ulcers or sores
  • very significant foot problems associated with severe health conditions
  • need of surgery to remove a toenail – usually for an ingrowing toenail
  • foot, ankle or related leg problems due to injury or a muscle, tendon or joint problem:
    • need of insoles/foot orthoses or specific exercise therapy
    • conditions such as tendon pain and inflammation, ligament strains and arthritis

You can now complete on-line self-referral via the Livewell website without prior approval or review by a health professional, and health professionals in primary care can signpost people to the self-referral website in response to e-consultations and the like.

You can refer yourself, or someone you look after for directly though the service website here: www.livewellsouthwest.co.uk/podiatry-making-a-self-referral-for-yourself-or-another-person
