Training practice

Lisson Grove and Woolwell work closely with the local health and educational establishments to provide training and experience for health professionals of the future, a vital part of the work that we do.

Lisson Grove and Woolwell Medical Centre is approved to work with students in year one, two and five of their medical degrees. GP registrars and international registrars.

We work with Plymouth Medical School and University Hospital Plymouth and other local NHS providers. We do not generally work with students from outside the area.

Observations of Consultations

If you are a patient you may be asked if you mind someone observing your appointment, this will typically be by a student or trainee but can occasionally be other health professionals learning about different aspects of general practice. In this situation they will be supervised at all times and guarantee confidentialirt in the same manner as a qualified clinician. If however you would prefer not to be seen by a student please let us know.
